KAREL Programming Overview

This course covers the fundamentals of the KAREL programming language. Instruction includes TPP  & KAREL programming techniques and how they work together. The course is not an in-depth KAREL programming course, and is focused on the interpretation of existing code rather than development of application programs. This course covers both TPP and KAREL languages.

Course Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Create and update KAREL & TPP programs
  • Compile and load a KAREL file
  • Test, run and execute programs in the HandlingPRO software
  • Concepts covered in this course include language syntax, branching constructs, system variables, simple KAREL logic, I/O and recommended safety procedures

The course consists of lectures, demonstrations, and a series of exercises designed to reinforce what the student has learned.  There is no KAREL motion programming in this course.

Audience:
This course is intended for programmers who have a good understanding of TPP programming.

Prerequisites: Completion of an "Operation & Programming" class.
