This course covers the tasks an operator, technician, programmer or engineer would need to set up and use FANUC Robotics Dual Check Safety (DCS) software.

Course Objectives: Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

• Set up and Modify DCS General parameters
• Set up and Modify DCS Position / Speed Check parameters
• Set up and Modify DCS Safe I/O parameters
• Review the DeviceNet Safety function
• Review the EtherNet I/P Safety function

In additional to presentations and demonstrations, this course offers a series of lab exercises for the student to complete.  Lab exercises relate directly to the classroom presentations and are intended to reinforce what the student has learned through actual hands-on experience. 

This course also includes a pretest and posttest  to measure mastery of objectives.

Audience:This course is intended for the person who must set up or operate a FANUC robot with an R-30iA or R-30iA Mate controller with DCS software installed.

Prerequisites:The student needs to be familiar with Teach Pendant menus, jogging, Frames, basic programming, fault recovery and Mastering of the robot prior to attendance in this class.   Completion of a FANUC Robot Operations or Programming class is recommended.
