FANUC Robotics Central Hosts Job Forum

FANUC Robotics hosted business, economic and political leaders on Tuesday, Jan. 12 at its facility in Mason, Ohio to discuss the jobs and manufacturing crisis in Ohio, and recommend innovative strategies to attract high-tech companies to the state.

“This was an excellent opportunity for a wide range of leadership to exchange ideas on how we can create jobs and restore prosperity in Ohio,” said John Roemisch, General Manager, FANUC Robotics Eastern Region.

Roemisch participated in the panel discussion along with Ryan Patterson, Jr., Sr. District Manager for FANUC Robotics Central.  “I speak with companies in Ohio on a daily basis about the future of manufacturing in this state,” said Patterson.  “Everybody is eager for Ohio to make a turnaround, and we’re hopeful that these types of forums will generate a new excitement for manufacturing.”

Additional panel members included John Kasich, Ohio’s gubernatorial candidate for 2010, and a former nine-term U.S. Congressman (and Chairman of the House Budget Committee), Jeb Bush, former two-term Governor of Florida, and five business leaders from Ohio.

“In addition to bringing new businesses to Ohio, we discussed the need for existing manufacturers to consider productivity-enhancing technologies like robots and automation so that they can remain competitive,” said Roemisch.
