This robotic labeling application case study features an automated inkjet labeling system used to apply markings to cases of ammunition. The system - developed by TranTek Automation - uses two FANUC LR Mate 200iC/5L robot to complete the automated process.
This TranTek robotic marking cell is part of an automated ammunition manufacturing system where the ammunition is packed into steel boxes that must be marked with the proper military markings. The ammunition boxes are conveyed into the cell on a roller conveyor, then lifted and located. After the boxes are in place, two FANUC LR mate 200iC/5L robots equipped with ink jet heads apply the necessary markings to four sides of each box. The robots have different programs for each of the multiple products handled by this flexible automated system.
