Robotic Workcells

Robotic workcells are computer operated robotic devices, mostly used for industrial manufacturing but have a variety of other applications for a range of environments. Robotic workcells are designed to improve quality, speed, and cost of the process, through the precision control offered through robotic automation. Robotic workcells improve manufacturing processes by reducing lead times and eliminating waste. They are an important tool for any company looking to improve profits through lean manufacturing.

Robotic workcells are pre-engineered systems that reduce risks of costly custom systems and provide tremendous flexibility to meet changing production requirements. To make automating easier, FANUC Robotics has introduced robot simulation software, ROBOGUIDE series of simulation software which will simulate robotic workcells in action and in your production process to cut the time and costs associated with a prototype setup. These fully integrated PC-based simulation tools can be used to model future cells, or work out production bottlenecks before they happen. These tools save time, money, and greatly improve productivity.

Vision guided robots offer additional intelligence to a robotic workcell by monitoring tasks and providing feedback to robotic motion control systems. This increases the accuracy, efficiency and speed of an already precision designed robotic arm. When setting up the robotic workcell, the entire environment must be mapped to ensure that all motion will avoid collisions with moving objects. The robotic arm must also be programmed to be able to identify the parts or features it will be manipulating or moving. The ROBOGUIDE series are excellent software systems that can plan the important addition to your process with ease and accuracy.

Robotic Workcells improve the efficiency and productivity of your process, whether it is industrial or commercial, packing and palletizing, or arc-welding and laser cutting. Robotic Workcells feature interchangeable modular components, such as end of arm tooling and robotic vision sensors, that can be replaced, allowing plant managers and engineers to use the robotic arm again in a different part of their production process and often for different applications.
