Motion Control

Motion control is a crucial element of automation systems, controlling the position and velocity of robotic arms, linear actuators, and servo driven equipment. Motion control is an important part of industrial robots, however it is more complex than in the use of specialized machines. Motion control is widely used in the packaging, material handling and assembly robots.

Robotic cells have a number of integrate programs that are available to enhance the accuracy and reliability of the robotic arm. A motion control system contains a robot controller to program the established points and close the position feedback loop.  A drive to transform the control signal from the motion controller into a higher power electro servo drive robot. Servo drive can close the position internally increasing the precision of the robotic motion.  A feedback sensor like an optical device or machine vision software will return the position of the robotic arm system to the motion controller and mechanical components will transform the motion of the robot actuator into the desired motion. Machine vision software increases the robotic systems intelligence, allowing the robotic arm to identify, measure, and inspect the materials being processed.

The LR Mate 200iB/5WP food grade robot is a member of FANUC Robotics popular LR Mate series of intelligent mini robots designed to handle products in a wide range of industries and working environments, including machine shops, medical device manufacturing, food, plastics, and cleanroom manufacturing. The LR Mate series is ideal for applications such as machine tending, assembly, picking and packing, material removal, and testing. Its small size allows the robot to work in very tight workspaces. The LR Mate 200iB has a slimmer robotic arm than previous versions, which has further enhanced its reach and minimized interference. Though the arm size is smaller, the six-axis robot has enhanced payload capabilities. Brakes on all axes enhance motion control and create a safer working environment.
