Robotic Palletizing of Finished Machined Parts

A FANUC M-410iB/450 palletizing robot equipped with FANUC’s V-500iA/3DV vision and line-tracking products transfers and palletizes parts in an automated assembly operation.

After a rough finishing process is complete, an M-410iB/450 robot picks the part up from the finishing process cell door and transfers it to an out-feed conveyor system. It then uses FANUC’s V-500iA/3DV vision to find and pick an un-machined part off of an in-feed conveyor system. The part is placed onto the finishing process cell door where it is transferred into the cell to begin the machining process. The M-410iB/450 then waits for the machining process to complete to initiate another parts transfer. The M-410iB/450 has a 450 kg payload for versatility in part handling and palletizing. The machined parts travel down the out-feed conveyor to a palletizing station with a second M-410iB/450. The second M-410iB/450 palletizes the finished parts as they travel to the end of the out-feed conveyor, where they are transferred by fork truck.
